Qualifications for this position :

  • High school diploma or GED
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Insurance background
  • Supervisor and/or management experience
  • Strong background in estimating/appraising Auto Physical Damage
  • Planning and operational experience
  • Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish is preferre

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and monitor of Material Damage Appraisers and DRP
  • Report and document variances and performance
  • Review suspicious losses and determine if further investigation is warranted
  • Ensure compliance of all material damage claim settlements with DOI regulations
  • Provide material damage training
  • Maintain a high degree of knowledge in the area of physical damage and attend necessary training programs to increase his/her knowledge
  • Act as a technical resource in the area of material damage and estimating
  • Handle situations arising from compliant calls from customers
  • Act as a role model for all employees
  • Review requests for authority timely and grant the appropriate authority to settle claims
  • Respond to Department of Insurance inquiries
  • Responsible for interviewing and selecting candidates for employment
  • Complete performance evaluations as required by company policy for all employees under his/her direct supervision
  • Make accurate decisions on whether or not to deny coverage
  • Day to day contact with independent appraisal companies
  • Recommend candidates for new hires or for advancement or promotion within the company
  • Recommend appropriate direction on all open files through verbal instructions or written action plans placed in claims files
  • Maintain high morale and production for the team
  • Assist with other duties and/or projects as assigned by management
  • Other duties as assigned by management or as needed
