EDUCATION:

  • Minimum: Associate’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum: 1-2 years of related experience
  • Preferred: 2-4 years of progressive experience in desktop support or administration, with increasing responsibility.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Intermediate proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Windows and/or macOS operating systems.
  • Experience with hardware setup, configuration, and maintenance for desktops, laptops, and printers.
  • Familiarity with network fundamentals and basic troubleshooting.
  • Experience with software installation, configuration, and support.
  • Knowledge of IT asset management principles and tools.
  • Understanding of basic security best practices for end-user devices.

SOFT SKILLS:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a focus on providing timely and helpful support.
  • Ability to document technical procedures, solutions, and progress clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities

PURPOSE:

As a Desktop Administrator at Plexus, you will be a key player in ensuring the smooth and efficient IT operation for our internal customers. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional IT support to our employees and managing our site’s computing equipment, contributing directly to a productive and secure work environment. This role offers the opportunity to manage a variety of technical challenges, contribute to process improvements, and work collaboratively within a supportive IT team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide Exceptional IT Support: Deliver timely and effective technical assistance to internal customers, resolving hardware and software issues related to laptops, desktops, thin clients, printers, and computer interfaces to equipment. Maintain clear and consistent communication regarding issue status and resolution progress.
  • Manage and Maintain Site Computing Equipment: Oversee the lifecycle management of all site computing devices and related software, including accurate inventory tracking, deployment, maintenance, and retirement processes.
  • Contribute to IT Standards and Policies: Follow and actively provide input into the development and implementation of Global IT policies and standards to ensure consistency and security across the organization.
  • Drive Process Improvement: Utilize lean principles, data analysis, and your experience to identify opportunities for process optimization and implement improvements within your area of responsibility. Participate in root cause analysis and contribute to the development of effective corrective actions.
  • Ensure Effective Change Management: Adhere to established change management policies and procedures for testing and implementing system updates, modifications, and deletions to minimize disruption and ensure system stability.
  • Collaborate and Escalate: Manage medium complexity tasks and projects independently, providing regular status updates. Assist with issue escalation and collaborate with other IT teams to achieve timely resolution.
  • Uphold Cybersecurity Posture: As a valued member of the GT team, you are responsible for actively upholding our organization’s cybersecurity posture by strictly adhering to security policies and procedures, actively participating in security awareness training, protecting company data and systems, proactively identifying and mitigating potential vulnerabilities, and promptly reporting any suspicious activity or potential security incidents.
