DICKINSON STATE UNIVERSITY (DSU) is a regional comprehensive institution within the North Dakota University System, whose primary role is to contribute to intellectual, social, economic, and cultural development, especially to Southwestern North Dakota. The University’s mission is to provide high quality, accessible programs; to promote excellence in teaching and learning; to support scholarly and creative activities; and to provide service relevant to the economy, health, and quality of life for the citizens of the State of North Dakota.
DSU is seeking to hire a Desktop and Audio/Video Specialist. This position will plan, recommend, implement, maintain, and train appropriate information technology solutions for the campus. This position is part of the Information Technology Systems (ITS) department.
ITS strive to promote, develop, and coordinate new and emerging technology and delivery strategies for the campus community. As well as plan, design, coordinate, and direct higher education information technology solutions. And finally, implement, design and support data information and telecommunication services on the local campus and North Dakota University System related services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, information technology, or related field
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proficient use/operation of computer, computer systems, and peripherals
  • Communication skills, both written and oral
  • Management skills

  • Training skills

Responsibilities
  • Desktop Support for faculty and staff
  • Provide support for printers and copiers in offices, computer labs and residence halls
  • Provide troubleshooting support and maintenance for devices (desktops, laptops, tablets, etc.)
  • Test and troubleshoot computer hardware and software in multimedia classrooms, computer labs, Campus Housing, and employees’ workstations.
  • Provide technical oversight for remote classroom equipment as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Provide supervision and maintenance of Video Conferencing rooms and equipment on the DSU campus and within the DSULive program
  • Provide technical oversight for Video Conferencing classroom and conference equipment.
  • Coordinate maintenance and troubleshooting of the equipment.
  • Schedule and train student technology assistants.
  • Provide DSU training on classroom equipment and software.
  • Creating training materials for recording and meeting software (instruction guides, videos, handouts).
  • Perform other duties as assigned/needed.
  • Assist with technology needs for courses, events, and meetings held in connection with DSU.
  • Provide audio-visual, streaming, and technical support for events hosted by DSU as requested.
  • Assist with set up and production of events on campus.
