JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team. In this role, you will provide technical support and assistance to end-users, ensuring the smooth operation of computer systems and networks. Your expertise in troubleshooting, customer service, and IT infrastructure will be crucial in maintaining high levels of user satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in desktop support, computer management, and various operating systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in desktop support or IT support roles.
  • Strong knowledge of computer management principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with computer networking concepts (LAN) and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Proficiency in using help desk software such as BMC Remedy or ServiceNow.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with software troubleshooting across various operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for hardware and software issues across various operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Manage and troubleshoot computer networking issues, including VPN configurations and firewall settings.
  • Assist users with Microsoft Office applications and other software troubleshooting needs.
  • Maintain IT infrastructure by ensuring all systems are up-to-date and functioning properly.
  • Respond to help desk tickets using tools such as BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, or Jira to track issues and resolutions.
  • Perform routine maintenance on computer hardware and peripherals to ensure optimal performance.
  • Communicate effectively with users to understand their needs and provide timely solutions.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to implement new technologies and improve existing processes.
