Responsibilities

MAIN DUTIES

  • Establishing the condition of the system and accompanying peripherals.
  • Replicating faults as described by the end user.
  • Examine fault reports to ascertain the necessary course of action.
  • When necessary, converse with customers to aid in replication or the best course of repair.
  • Utilise the Microsoft operating system and DOS-based tools to test hardware or software functionality.
  • Assess which components could be faulty, replace and retest.
  • Reinstall software programs or adjust settings on existing software to fix machine malfunctions.
  • Ensure the customer is kept up to date with the RMA.
  • Completely dismantling systems to return to stock.
  • Full rebuilds of systems from parts.
  • Maintain records of equipment maintenance work or repairs.
  • Test repaired/upgraded systems to ensure that they are in working order.
  • Provide professionally written correspondence to customers.
  • Provide professionally written fault reports, on the conclusion of repair.
  • Aid in promoting a positive working environment with all colleagues throughout departments.

GENERAL DUTIES

  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, such as Health and Safety; Environmental; and Quality for all areas under your direct control.
  • Display a proactive, positive, can-do attitude within the organisation, with a culture of right first time and ownership of problems.
  • Willingly carry out other duties deemed appropriate by the company.
  • Make sure that any equipment that you use is in good working order and that a physical check is conducted weekly.
