SUMMARY:  The Desktop Specialist coordinates the implementation and optimization of Windows desktop environments to support business needs. Entry level scripting (batch, VBscript, PowerShell) skills in a Microsoft environment are desirable.   PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  The Desktop Specialist will have basic working knowledge of computer hardware and software, preferably in a healthcare environment. A+ and Network+ certifications are required or should be obtained within the employees training period. Three years of experience maintaining and supporting PCs in a Windows environment. One year of experience with Microsoft Office 2000 or greater. Strong documentation skills are required. Entry level scripting skills in a Microsoft environment are desirable but not required. Basic network troubleshooting skills are required.   PHYSICAL GUIDELINES:  Physical guidelines include the ability to move, traverse, position self, remain in a stationary position and negotiate steps for up to eight hours per day, lift, carry and position materials and equipment; visual and auditory acuity; manual dexterity. Travel between locations required and reimbursed per clinic policy. Employee must have valid KY driver’s licenses and appropriate motor vehicle insurance per clinic policy.   NOTE:   This document is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed.
