JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting for various hardware and software issues. This role requires a strong understanding of computer management, networking, and customer service to ensure seamless IT operations within the organization.

EXPERIENCE

Candidates should possess a solid foundation in technical support with experience in the following areas:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of desktop support practices including hardware troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure components such as Active Directory and Windows Server environments.
  • Understanding of computer networking principles including TCP, DNS, LAN configurations, and firewall management.
  • Strong analytical skills to diagnose problems effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to end-users for desktop and laptop systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Manage VPN connections and ensure secure access to the network.
  • Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure including firewalls, TCP/IP configurations, and DNS settings.
  • Utilize tools such as SCCM, ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, and Jira for ticketing and issue tracking.
  • Conduct analysis of system performance and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Support mobile devices and ensure compatibility with existing IT systems.
  • Collaborate with network administration teams to resolve connectivity issues within LAN environments.
  • Maintain documentation of technical procedures and user guides to enhance knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by effectively communicating with users to understand their needs.
