Position Title: Desktop Support Technician Department: IT Status: Non-Exempt Grade: DOE Reports to: IT Director PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A TEMPORARY FULL TIME POSITION Position Summary This position assists staff with technical support of desktop computers, applications, and related technology. Support includes specification, installation, and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines. Activities require interaction with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring problems. The position utilizes one-on-one consultancy to end users and Tribal Network staff. The position’s responsibilities require independent analyses, communication and problem solving. Work is performed with little supervision and requires initiative and judgment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Diagnose and repair computer system hardware. Support staff with desktop hardware, software and applications. · Work with Systems/Network administrator on supporting infrastructure. Roll out hardware and software to ensure optimal deployment of resources. Plan, implement, and support desktop upgrades/installations/patching. Install and troubleshoot desktop applications/operating systems in a Windows environment. Assist with technology planning through ongoing research. · Training staff on desktop applications and operating systems. · Documenting workload and environment based on requirements. · Ability to manage workload and multitask under pressure to meet deadlines. · Occasional overtime and/or off hour work when required. Supervisory Responsibilities No supervisory responsibilities. Position Qualifications · High school diploma or GED required · A+ Certified with at least 3 years’ experience as a computer technician · Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills · AA degree or combination of education and experience. · Must successfully pass a background check and pre-employment urinary analysis · Must be licensed and able to drive to locations in North Snohomish County · Must be a licensed and insurable driver.
