The Office of Classroom Management (OCM) is responsible for the day-to-day operation and long range academic space planning, management, and maintenance of classroom spaces for the University of Miami campuses. The Desktop Support associate will lead in supporting OCM special events, classroom assignments, and classroom technology & maintenance for all General Purpose Classroom (GPC) spaces. This position is required to work evenings and occasionally during high peak times, which may fall outside of normal business operational hours.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School graduation or GED
  • One year audio-visual classroom technology support at in an educational setting. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Conduct business with the highest level of customer service in an efficient, timely, and professional manner that aligns with the Office of Classroom Management expectations and University of Miami Common Purpose, Values, and Behaviors.
  • Proficient with the operation of all equipment utilized by the department necessary to perform assigned duties.
  • Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 40 lbs. without assistance. Some lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 70 lbs. with assistance.Ability to climb and work from ladders at various heights and tight spaces. Needs to have working knowledge of audio-visual concepts and ability to coordinate multiple simultaneous projects.
