Description

We are looking to appoint a Destination Development Assistant Manager for the North Region. With the ability to understand a place-based approach, the strategic policy context and to appreciate local issues, this role will broaden and deepen our relationship with stakeholders – local authorities, public bodies, tourism and industry groups.
The postholder will support, facilitate and sometimes lead activity that creates new opportunities to deliver destination development outcomes, with a particular focus on ‘place’. Maintaining a highly visible, professional and collaborative presence in the region is crucial in asserting VisitScotland’s positive reputation and the visitor economy as a force for good.

The regional focus of this role will be the North of Scotland therefore candidates should be based within this region. Ideally candidates would be based from VisitScotland’s Inverness office however we will consider candidates based anywhere within the North of Scotland with the ability to travel throughout the region and Scotland as a whole, as and when required. A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle are essential for the post. VisitScotland operates a hybrid working culture, partially office and partially home based.
