We're excited that you are interested in joining our team! About the position: The DET Operator operates the DET machine. Individual is familiar with its safety features and guidelines. Individual has a keen eye for quality. Individual will startup, operate and shutdown machine. It also involves the upkeep and scheduled maintenance of the entire DET area. Individual will do tool changes, quality checks and troubleshooting. Individual also coordinates and works closely with the upcoming shift to determine any needs that may arise regarding changeover. Essential Functions: Starts up and shuts down the machine. Understands the programing of the DET along with how to locate and maneuver the programs needed to operate the machine. Load, and change programs. Understand the machines codes or is able to learn this. Operate machine. Changes blades and able to re-order blades. Change, set depth and re-order tools. Communicates with QA to review parts or quality issues. Does quality checks on incoming parts; ensures a quality product off the machine; help the quality staff troubleshoot production related quality issues; put in defect and scrap information. Clean machine, perform scheduled maintenance as specified. This will include greasing and oiling. Put in Maintenance requests. Locate and read Cad drawings. Run and check test boards and make necessary adjustments. Is familiar with all emergency shut offs and stops or resets. Understands and follows the enhanced dispatch list. Enters in ECO's and puts in maintenance requests. Presence in the workplace is an essential function of this job. Additional Functions: May be responsible for training others on the DET's operation. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language for safety purposes in an understandable manner. Mechanical aptitude. Excellent understanding of the metric system as well as the metric tools necessary to operate the machine. Excellent communication skills required to ensure communication between shifts. Ability to read CAD drawing preferred. Prior CNC experience preferred. Basic knowledge of our support system, i.e. Fourth Shift Working Conditions: Our production environment is typical for wood manufacturing and includes a variety of environmental elements including loud noise, dust, and aromas. While this is an indoor operation, temperatures will vary with the outdoor temperature and some areas of the shop may be hot or cold. Worker may be subject to vibration. Worker is subject to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles and/or heat. Physical Requirements: Production positions are physically demanding and may be strenuous. They are standing positions and include frequent walking, lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds. There are a lot of body movements, including extending arms, grasping with hands, and flexing of wrists. There may be a lot of bending and twisting. Each position requires ongoing rotations of movements and workers must have the physicality to perform the essential functions. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and push or pull up to 150 lbs. Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

The operator is responsible for the startup, operation, and shutdown of the DET machine, including tool changes and quality checks. They must also perform scheduled maintenance and coordinate with other shifts to ensure smooth production changeovers.
