POSITION SUMMARY:

As we continue to expand to meet increasing demand, we’re excited to add new talent to our team. We’re currently looking for a Detailer to join us and help bring our industry-leading structures to life. The Detailer, a pivotal member of the Technical team, use AutoCAD and / or SolidWorks software to produce detailed drawing packages for our dealers and engineers. Detailers create standard or custom packages, problem solving while utilizing Britespan’s library of standard templates to accomplish customer requirements.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Knowledge

  • Completion of a post-secondary program in design, drafting or a related field

Skills

  • Proficient in AutoCAD or similar
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office suite
  • High attention to detail to produce accurate drawings and designs
  • Excellent time management with the ability to prioritize and shift priorities as necessary
  • Flexible, highly motivated, self-starter
  • Knowledge and understanding of fabrication and assembly processes
  • Knowledge of welding symbols and procedures and assembly processes - asset

Experience

  • 2 years’ experience in AutoCAD or similar 2D drafting program
  • 2 years’ experience in a drafting position
  • Experience in manufacturing, machining or fabricating environment - asset

Communication

  • Communicate effectively with team members (oral and written)
  • Able to work independently or collaboratively with a multidepartment team
  • Able to interface and communicate within all levels of the organization
Responsibilities
  • Develop Structural Drawings, Component Drawings, and fabric Drawings
  • Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and customer requirements
  • Develop a detailed technical data package including CAD models, layout, Bill of Materials and drawings
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of our products and quality standards
  • Assist in the preparation of Bill of Materials, Request for Quote, parts numbering system parameters and other engineering related documents
  • Meet deadlines and coordinate with other engineering and design teams
  • Interact with internal departments & external customers with a high level of respect
  • Participate in developing and actioning team Continuous Improvement initiatives; team and personal continual growth
