This position serves as the Detection Engineering Manager, developing and directing all phases of highly complex software and hardware implementations and computer security remediation for the Endpoint Protection unit ensuring support to staff and value-added services for operational standards. In this role, you will oversee the planning, design, installation, and maintenance of server and desktop components in support of infrastructure services, security, and anti-virus. In addition, you will supervise a team of Endpoint Security Analysts, by directing and coordinating activities to ensure the best hardware and software solutions are available for use by clients.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of four (4) years of college with coursework in management information systems, data processing, telecommunications, or a directly related Information Technology field.
  • Requires prior experience equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in management information systems, data processing, or telecommunications in a public or business organization.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS

  • Requires three (3) years of professional experience overseeing the planning, design, installation, and maintenance of server and desktop components in support of infrastructure services, security, and anti-virus.
  • Requires three (3) years of professional experience managing or leading an Information Security team or a similar Information Technology field, including developing and implementing operational standards, policies, and procedures to ensure service delivery and compliance with organizational goals and procurement guidelines in a large public or business organization.
  • Requires three (3) years of professional experience leading technical teams in problem diagnosis, incident resolution, and root cause analysis, including conducting performance assessments, troubleshooting issues, and documenting information to ensure effective incident management.
  • Requires three (3) years of professional experience coordinating in-depth enterprise-wide IT management studies involving extensive technical research, systems analysis, and security assessments and remediation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (IN ORDER OF SIGNIFICANCE)

  • Three (3) years of professional experience overseeing the planning, design, installation, and maintenance of server and desktop components in support of infrastructure services, security, and anti-virus.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience managing or leading an Information Security team or a similar Information Technology field, including developing and implementing operational standards, policies, and procedures to ensure service delivery and compliance with organizational goals and procurement guidelines in a large public or business organization.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience leading technical teams in problem diagnosis, incident resolution, and root cause analysis, including conducting performance assessments, troubleshooting issues, and documenting information to ensure effective incident management.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience coordinating in-depth enterprise-wide IT management studies involving extensive technical research, systems analysis, and security assessments and remediation.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience utilizing IT Application Service Delivery.
  • Extensive knowledge with load-testing tools and enterprise application monitoring tools.
  • Extensive knowledge utilizing Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes, methods, procedures, and techniques.
  • Extensive knowledge of handling complex technical issues, including responding to emergency and after-hours situations, while ensuring effective communication and resolution in line with established escalation procedures.
  • Ability to develop, negotiate, and manage vendor contracts, including gathering technical and business requirements, coordinating vendor performance management, ensuring performance guarantees, and maintaining compliance with service level agreements and contract standards.
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification.
Responsibilities
  • Under general supervision, serves as the Detection Engineering Manager for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), developing and directing all phases of highly complex software and hardware implementations and computer security remediation for Endpoint Protection, ensuring support to staff and value-added services for operational standards.
  • Serves as working supervisor.
  • Supervises, directs, and coordinates unit activities to ensure the best hardware and software solutions are available for use by clients and plans for new releases of existing products.
  • Coordinates in-depth enterprise-wide IT management studies involving extensive technical research, systems analysis, security assessments and remediation.
  • Directs the analysis of performance reports, activity data, and exception reports to determine solutions required to resolve problems related to operating systems and application security remediation, anti-virus, etc., or deliver the levels of service necessary to help agencies meet their goals.
  • Serves as lead on major IT procurements, coordinating evaluation and acquisition of new software for installation for client access.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
