Job Details Job Location: Detroit, MI Position Type: Full Time Education Level: Not Specified Salary Range: $120000.00 - $150000.00 Salary/year Travel Percentage: Road Warrior Job Shift: Day Job Category: Health Care Description The Wound Care Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing wound management for wounds while closely collaborating with the facility wound nurse and nursing team. As Nurse Practitioner will provide specialized care and management for patients with acute and chronic wounds, including but not limited to pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, venous ulcers, and post-surgical wounds. The NP will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, perform wound assessments, and ensure optimal patient outcomes. • Patient Assessment and Care Planning • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including health histories and physical examinations. • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans for patients with complex wound care needs. • Order and interpret diagnostic tests related to wound care. • Prescribe medications and treatments as appropriate. • Wound Management • Perform wound debridement, dressings, and other advanced wound care procedures. • Utilize evidence-based protocols and guidelines for wound management. • Monitor and document the progress of wound healing, adjusting care plans as necessary. • Patient Education and Support • Educate patients and their families on wound care techniques, prevention strategies, and lifestyle modifications. • Provide support and counseling to patients and families regarding wound management and treatment plans. • Collaboration and Coordination • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences. • Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers or specialists as needed. • Quality Improvement and Professional Development • Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to wound care. • Stay current with advancements in wound care practices through continuing education and professional development. • Contribute to the development and revision of wound care protocols and policies. • Documentation and Compliance • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including assessments, treatments, and outcomes. • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards related to wound care. Qualifications Qualifications Education: • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program. • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in MA. • Certification in Wound Care (e.g., WCC, CWON, CWS) preferred. Experience: • Experience in an acute care or outpatient setting preferred. Skills and Competencies: • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills. • Proficiency in wound care techniques and procedures. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. • Strong organizational and time management skills. • Commitment to maintaining continuing education credits for both Advanced Practice License and Wound Care Certifications.
