PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Our client is the corporate and investment banking arm of The Group, world’s 10th largest bank by total assets.
Their Singapore center, Information Systems Asia Pacific (ISAP), is one of the 3 main IT hubs for worldwide business with over 1000 IT staff covering Production and Application Development activities. They work daily with international branches located in 33 countries by supporting their IT solutions and envisioning and developing the Bank’s future information systems.
The department is responsible for development and maintenance of Capital Market IT applications (in-house and package) used worldwide, covering Front Office (Murex, Apex, Orchestrade…), Back Office (Summit, Calypso…), Market data referential (Asset Control..), Market Risk (in-house application on big data technologies).
CARD is one of the pivotal projects in Capital Market application landscape which focuses on managing the market data (static and pricing) integration from external data vendors into bank information systems. CARD is the central to sourcing & distributing of market data to all others bank systems (like accounting, risk, compliance, FO and BO etc.). It acts as the golden source for the bank.
This role aims to develop on CARD application, in project mode as well as maintenance, and to support the “run the bank” function. It requires a deep understanding of the nature of business operations, timing of activities & data flowing through internal and external systems. The build and support team continuously works with business users, infrastructure engineers and system managers.

SKILLS

Must have
4+ years of software development experience
In depth understanding of the Alveo (formerly Asset Control) platform: o capturing, cleansing and publishing market data o configuration of the data model o mastering data across multiple sources and snap times o troubleshooting data flows including Formula Engine code
Good knowledge and experience in AWS Cloud Fundamentals (Microservice architecture, Docker & Kubernetes, S3 storage, Redshift etc.)
An ideal candidate will also have expertise in some or all of the following:
Apache Kafka, Spark and Iceberg
Exposure to devops culture
The candidate should have analytical and problem solving skills, a pro-active mind-set in security, proven ability to work individually under pressure.
Team player with good interpersonal skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to have
Additionally, knowledge of the following would be helpful although it is not required: Understanding or interest in finance & financial markets, particularly the general knowledge of different types of financial assets, like bonds, equity, interest rate derivatives and CDS etc.
Willing to do L3 Support if required.
Experienced with front-end development with either Angular or React
Strong understanding and experience in SOLID patterns, unit testing and integration tests
Strong knowledge and experience with latest and advanced Java language features as well as Spring Boot framework
Well experienced in RESTful APIs design & development with Swagger and OpenAPI standard
Experienced with Java OpenTelemetry and ElasticSearch to build the observability for applications
Good knowledge and experience of SQL or similar
Experienced with Maven, Git, Gitlab and JIRA
Good knowledge of algorithms and data structures, with strong fundamentals in complexity analysis
Strong ability to analyze code
understand execution flow & debug even without access to a debugger
