ESTIMATED TIME TO FILL: DECEMBER 2025

GBSI is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of Developer/Architect II in Pensacola, FL. This position will be supporting Training and Education Management Systems for Naval Education and Training Command (NETC). The role’s primary focus is with Navy Enlisted Advancement System (NEAS). The starting salary for this position is $47,000.

Responsibilities

  • Provides high-quality software engineering advisory services, software systems planning, integration, and architecture support;
  • Provides comprehensive support, maintenance, and enhancement of software using a technology stack that includes AWS technologies, Visual Studio/C#, JavaScript, SQL Server databases;
  • Fixes bugs, converts, and upgrades legacy code to new technologies, and develops new software features;
  • Develops and maintains unit tests to ensure the reliability and correctness of software code;
  • Participates with production deployment process, releases planning, creates documents for the release, and creates scripts for the release;
  • Performs environment Integration testing, such as development, staging and production environment to assure that all functionalities work as expected;
  • Follows and ensures the system is maintained in accordance with all DoD standards;
  • ATO controls are met through all phases of the SDLC, to include adding tools to conduct static and dynamic application security testing;
  • Supports software development and integration efforts while adhering to government guidance for strategy, planning, documentation, and implementation;
  • Implements STIGs and maintains artifacts to ensure an authority to operate (ATO) exists for the system;
  • Maintains SQL Server databases used by the NEAS application;
  • Conducts hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science, from an ABET accredited or CAE designated institution or six (6) years of experience, in lieu of degree;
  • DoD-issued Secret Security Clearance is required at start;
  • IAT Level II (CCNA Security or CSA+ or GICSP or GSEC or Security+ce or SSCP) certification is required at start;
  • Hands-on experience with software development in Visual Studio/C# and JavaScript/JQuery is required;
  • Cloud-based development experience, preferably in AWS GovCloud is required;
  • Proficiency in SQL is required;
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git is required;
  • Knowledge of JavaScript libraries and frameworks is required;
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner certification is desired;
  • Experience in DevSecOps best practices, software development life cycles, automation toolchains and CI/CD pipeline is desired;
  • Experience with building and working with container images is desired;
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with technical and non-technical cross-functional teams is essential;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for this role.
