JOB SUMMARY

Softech Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Developer Lead to drive data engineering, analytics, and DevOps initiatives in the Public Behavioral Healthcare domain. This full-time, on-site role in Columbia, Maryland involves leading the design, development, and deployment of data solutions using SQL Server, Python, Data Warehousing, and modern Data Lake architectures, with a strong emphasis on data preparation, presentation, and AI integration.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering with at least 2 years in a lead role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL Server (T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS) and Python (Pandas, NumPy, etc.).
  • Proven experience in Data Warehouse design, development, and optimization.
  • Experience with Data Lake architecture (e.g., Azure Data Lake, AWS Lake Formation).
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Terraform, Docker).
  • Exposure to AI/ML concepts and integration of models into production environments.
  • Knowledge of healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) and behavioral health datasets.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Azure Synapse, Databricks, or other cloud-based analytics platforms.
  • Exposure to Natural Language Processing (NLP) and predictive analytics in healthcare.
  • Understanding of public health reporting requirements and behavioral health metrics.
  • Certifications in Azure, AWS, DevOps, or data engineering.

  • Partner with public health officials and behavioral health experts to translate business needs into technical solutions.
