Business Unit Automation is the home of AutoMine® - the world leading solution for autonomous mining. We are a global organization and developing fully automated and robotic mining technologies for mobile machinery, including machine vision, machine learning and artificial intelligence with an aim to revolutionize the underground and surface mining industry.
We are now looking for experienced and motivated professional for our team. This is a role reporting to the Head of Automation Technology Programs. The position is based in Tampere, Finland at our home office in Tulli Business Park located in the city center.
Your mission
You will join our Navigation and Situational Awareness team focusing on work related to navigation and mapping in underground mining environment. You will complement our team with your hands-on experience of working with 3D lidars and navigation algorithms, and with your knowledge of situational awareness. In your role you will benefit from your previous knowledge of sensor fusions, SLAM algorithms and understanding concepts like GNSS, and dead reckoning. To work with our solutions, you need strong experience of modern C++ programming languages and understanding of ROS2 and Linux.
Your profile
You have a relevant technical education (e.g., Master of Science), and prior experience working with the specified context. We value your experience of automation or mobile equipment development in international business environment. You can specify, plan, and document your ideas and you have a proactive systematic and structured way of working. You have good verbal and writing skills in English.
You can establish strong professional relationships directly with relevant stakeholders and communicate with them at all levels. You understand wider business needs and find innovative solutions to complex problems. You can work proactively and systematically in a fast-changing business environment with a strong success focus. You have willingness to travel internationally.
