The Developer Relations Lead at TomTom will be a strategic driver in expanding the utility and appeal of our APIs, SDKs, and data products. You’ll go beyond traditional developer engagement to proactively identify opportunities for new tooling and experiences that directly address developer needs and unlock the full potential of our platform. This role demands a deep technical understanding, a creative problem-solver mindset, and a passion for building solutions that empower customers to create exceptional applications. \n What you'll do Conduct in-depth analysis of developer workflows, pain points, and emerging trends within the mapping, location data, and automotive spaces Translate these insights into a strategic roadmap for tooling and content development – prioritizing projects that maximize platform value and drive adoption Tooling Development & Integration: Design, develop, and integrate new tools, SDK extensions, and applets to streamline developer workflows and simplify the use of TomTom’s APIs, SDKs, and map data. Think playgrounds, interactive Web tools, etc. Collaborate closely with our engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of these tools into our platform Provide expert technical guidance and support to developers, focusing on the effective use of products, tooling and platform features Deliver targeted documentation, tutorials, and code samples showcasing the capabilities of TomTom’s products Coordinate tech writers and other content creation functions Working with Engineering Teams, Product Management, Marketing and Sales stakeholders Foster the engagement of developers and customers in ad-hoc events or initiatives. What you'll need Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field 5+ years of experience as a software developer – with significant experience designing and building APIs, SDKs, or platform integrations Deep understanding of RESTful API design principles and common development workflows Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java) Experience in Developer Relations, ideally within a B2B technology company Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and Agile development methodologies Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills – able to identify complex technical challenges and develop creative solutions. Public speaking, community building, and customer engagement experience Technical Proficiency with: APIs, SDKs, RESTful Web Services, Location Data Formats, Tooling Development, API Design.
