Description

At MICAH House, we approach the crisis of homelessness from a trauma-informed perspective. We take an active role in breaking down the stigma of homelessness, and believe this is a community initiative. While staying at MICAH House, our clients can rely on us during this transitional time to provide a safe space and connect them to programs and services that will promote self-reliance and self-care.
The Community Relations & Development Coordinator supports the development department with public relations, fundraising, and communications. Creative and strategic, this person will develop innovative outreach and communication plans to meet MICAH House yearly goals, secure funds, attract supporters and speak to our mission across multiple channels. This individual will act as brand manager, ensuring mission, story, and brand identity are well-defined.

PREFERRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public affairs, communications, journalism, business, public administration, or a related field.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and digital communication platforms (email, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Meta Business Suite).
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign) or comparable design software.
  • Creative thinker with a knack for storytelling and engaging diverse audiences.
  • Comfortable balancing digital outreach with in-person engagement.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with a team-first attitude.
  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Strong community ties and a genuine passion for building relationships and connecting with others.
  • Background in fundraising, event planning, marketing, and/or nonprofit work
