ABOUT SCHOOLS PLUS

We at Schools Plus make money for schools by hiring out their facilities. A sports hall for a football club, the dining hall for a party, a classroom for meditation. In this way, the local community benefits from our public buildings, valuable resources are put to good use, and essential revenue is generated for schools. We are celebrating over 20 years of success serving schools and have made over £36 million for our schools so far.
We are investing in our next decade of successful, ambitious growth and expanding our commercial team. As part of this, we are looking for several highly motivated individuals to join us as Development Consultants.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Schools Plus serve thousands of customers every year. Among them are a handful of extra-high-value customer organisations with whom we work across multiple sites, nationwide, including premiership football clubs, the NHS, Hollywood movie studios, and numerous other businesses, charities and organisations.
This is a demanding sales role. It is for exceptional individuals who can achieve ambitious revenue targets by sourcing, nurturing, and growing long-term relationships with high-value customer organisations.
Each Development Consultant is a sector specialist, for instance football, drama schools, media production or worship. You deal exclusively with customers in your area of specialism, developing a very high level of expertise which you deploy constantly to help your customers and advocate for change within our business.
Your day-to-day experience will be largely desk-based. You will engage with customers and colleagues remotely by phone and online on busy, demanding days. You will proactively seek out new business opportunities, nurture warm leads, work with your largest customers to grow their usage, and advocate for their needs and interests back into our business.
Your line manager and your CRM provide you with the structure and direction for your work. There is a steady rhythm of key meetings and calls throughout the week, backed by KPIs, plans and data, to keep you fully engaged, motivated and on target.
From time to time, you will get together in person with your immediate colleagues and the wider Schools Plus team. You will also sometimes go and meet your key customers. In addition, you will be encouraged to take up opportunities to visit some of the schools we serve.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Meet and exceed your ambitious monthly revenue targets
  • Proactively hunt and secure new high-value customers within your sector specialism
  • Develop existing customer business to ensure revenue targets are achieved, and proactively seek ways to deepen and broaden our key customer relationships

  • Support and feed into the constant flow of information between teams to ensure a collaborative and coherent revenue-focused strategy, including identifying opportunities to improve our offering to better serve your sector
  • Be a supportive, helpful and friendly team member with your fellow development consultants
  • Act in accordance with our values at all times
