The Opportunity
The Fanconi Cancer Foundation is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented
Development Coordinator to support fundraising activities and increase annual giving
growth. Reporting directly to the Philanthropy Director, the Development Coordinator
will handle all donation processing activities, identify and steward donors in the
thank and steward donors and will follow internal processes and procedures to track
the effectiveness of philanthropic expansion. Close collaboration with the Development
Officer, Communications Director, and Marketing Manager is essential to the success
of this role.
Organizational Overview
Fanconi Cancer Foundation (FCF) focuses on advancing research and support for
Fanconi anemia (FA), an inherited DNA-repair disorder linked to bone marrow failure
and cancer susceptibility across all ages. Since its establishment in 1989, FCF has
funded over 260 grants, totaling more than $33 million, pivotal in enabling FA
researchers to secure additional funding from national and global sources. Research
efforts span four main areas: FA-related cancers, bone marrow failure, FA genes and
DNA repair pathways, and systemic impacts.
In recent years, FCF has intensified its focus on collaborative research initiatives,
funding multidisciplinary teams like the Stand Up to Cancer Research Team and the
Fanconi Anemia Cancer Consortium. These efforts aim to accelerate breakthroughs
through shared resources and interdisciplinary expertise.
Beyond research, FCF provides vital support services to individuals and families
facing FA diagnoses, including online support groups, educational resources, and
international support grants. Annually, FCF hosts the Scientific Symposium, gathering
leading researchers to discuss advancements in gene therapy, DNA repair, and
emerging therapeutics.

Reporting to the Philanthropy Director, the Development Coordinator’s
responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Fundraising Program & Operations
Process daily contributions via bank deposit.
Oversee and administer donation entry for offline and third-party donations.
Manage timely and personalized acknowledgments for donors, ensuring
gratitude and recognition for their contributions.
Establish and maintain collaborative, positive working relationships with
development colleagues, board members, and other constituents to maximize
FCF’s total gift revenue and annual giving strategies.
Work with Philanthropy Director and Development Officer to identify a target
list of grants & corporations to further investigate as funding opportunities for
