Title: Development Coordinator
Department: Development
Reports To: Director of Individual Giving & Development Systems
Starting Pay: $21/hour, non-exempt, full-time with benefits
Job Summary: The Development Coordinator supports annual and long-term strategic fundraising primarily through gift entry/tracking along with acknowledgement and concierge services for donors. This position serves as a Tessitura power user, with responsibilities for entering and tracking all gifts and acknowledgements along with basic reporting and data cleansing.

EDUCATION, LICENSE, AND SKILLS:

  • Must be flexible, intrinsically motivated, and dependable; job may require occasional overtime.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience within fundraising and/or donor/patron relations preferred.
  • High level of skill with patron/donor database required; experience with Tessitura preferred.
  • Experience managing simultaneous duties and prioritizing projects as appropriate.
  • Experience successfully communicating with and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in all duties.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to plan, organize and execute with a minimum amount of supervision.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports the mission, vision, and values of Kentucky Performing Arts while understanding and complying with company expectations, policies, and procedures.
  • Adapts well to changing priorities, deadlines, and directions with a positive and open mindset. Communicates clearly, consistently, respectfully, and collaboratively when communicating on behalf of KPA.
  • Participates in all appropriate internal and external meetings, as well as professional development programs to maintain competency and increase acumen.
  • Effectively manages financial and physical resources to achieve the mission and goals of KPA.
  • Plans work and executes tasks independently.
  • Enters and tracks all gifts through Tessitura, generating daily batch reports and gift acknowledgments, including related printing, filing, and mailing.
  • Tracks donor benefits within Tessitura.
  • Pulls basic fundraising reports as needed.
  • Assists with data cleansing, including updating and/or merging of records as necessary.
  • Reconciles gift reporting with Finance as needed to ensure accuracy.
  • Serves as the lead contact for the Donor Hotline, helping donors with any ticketing needs and/or questions.
  • Manages and tracks community ticket donation requests.
  • Assists with execution as needed for cultivation and acknowledgement events/activities.
  • Promotes a culture of philanthropy through appreciation for gifts of time, talents, and treasure among donors, volunteers, and staff.
  • Works with colleagues to ensure internal resources and processes support the fundraising plan and culture of philanthropy.
  • Other duties that may be assigned by supervisor.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to effectively communicate in all internal and external relationships for all essential job functions.
  • Above average skills in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift approximately 30 pounds unassisted using appropriate lifting techniques and/or devices.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Remote or hybrid work may be available to this position depending on the needs of the company and department.
