Description The Development Coordinator plays a vital role in advancing SALT Outreach's mission by supporting fundraising, donor engagement, communications, marketing, storytelling, and community partnerships. This individual serves as a professional ambassador for the organization, cultivating relationships with donors, churches, corporations, foundations, volunteers, and community leaders while increasing awareness and financial support for SALT's work. This position requires someone who is highly organized, exceptionally detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable wearing many hats in a fast-paced nonprofit environment. The ideal candidate enjoys networking, public speaking, event planning, relationship building, and creating meaningful stories that demonstrate SALT's impact. This role also requires compassion, professionalism, and confidence when interacting with individuals experiencing homelessness and representing SALT Outreach throughout the community. Essential Responsibilities Fundraising & Donor Relations Cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors, churches, corporations, foundations, and community partners. Support annual fundraising campaigns, sponsorships, donor appeals, stewardship initiatives, and donor cultivation strategies. Maintain accurate donor records, gift entries, engagement notes, reports, and donor communications within Bloomerang CRM. Ensure donor information is entered accurately and confidentially while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. Prepare donor acknowledgments, fundraising materials, sponsorship packets, newsletters, annual reports, and impact communications. Monitor fundraising performance, donor engagement, and campaign metrics. Assist with grant support materials, sponsorship proposals, and fundraising initiatives. Community Engagement & Representation Professionally represent SALT Outreach at networking events, churches, community meetings, conferences, fundraising events, corporate presentations, and outreach opportunities. Deliver presentations about SALT Outreach's mission, services, impact, and partnership opportunities. Represent the President & CEO at meetings, presentations, and community events when needed. Build and strengthen relationships with churches, businesses, nonprofit organizations, civic groups, foundations, and community leaders. Event Planning & Partnerships Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events, donor appreciation events, volunteer events, partner gatherings, and community outreach activities. Coordinate event logistics including timelines, sponsorship fulfillment, vendor communication, volunteers, registration, setup, breakdown, and follow-up. Schedule and coordinate tabling events, church presentations, networking opportunities, community fairs, and outreach events with partner organizations. Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to increase SALT Outreach's visibility and engagement. Storytelling, Marketing & Communications Build trusted relationships with staff across all SALT Outreach locations to identify impactful client stories and organizational successes. Regularly visit outreach locations and interact respectfully with individuals experiencing homelessness while treating every individual with dignity, compassion, and respect. Serve as the primary liaison between outreach staff, clients, and contracted photographers, videographers, writers, designers, and marketing partners to coordinate storytelling projects. Create compelling content for newsletters, donor communications, fundraising campaigns, sponsorship materials, blogs, annual reports, website updates, and marketing collateral. Create, schedule, publish, and monitor content across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and other digital platforms using Hootsuite while maintaining consistent branding and audience engagement. Collaborate with contractors and staff to ensure marketing materials accurately communicate SALT Outreach's mission and impact. Collaboration & Organizational Support Partner closely with the President & CEO on fundraising strategies, donor engagement, communications, and organizational growth initiatives. Collaborate with program staff, outreach teams, and grant staff to communicate organizational outcomes and impact. Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to wear many hats by supporting organizational needs outside of traditional development responsibilities. Perform other duties as assigned in support of SALT Outreach's mission. Requirements Required Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, business administration, public relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum of two years of experience in fundraising, nonprofit development, communications, marketing, donor relations, or event planning. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong public speaking and presentation abilities. Proven networking and relationship-building skills. Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail. Experience managing donor databases and CRM systems such as Bloomerang, Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, or similar. Experience planning fundraising events and community engagement activities. Experience managing social media platforms and scheduling content using Hootsuite. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines. Comfortable interacting with individuals experiencing homelessness with compassion, dignity, and professionalism. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends. Preferred Experience in nonprofit fundraising or donor stewardship. Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, photography, or videography. Knowledge of the Central Florida nonprofit and philanthropic community. Desired Characteristics Passionate about serving individuals experiencing homelessness.
