Description Location: Hybrid - based in Salt Lake City About The Tribune The Salt Lake Tribune has been Utah's independent voice since 1871. In 2019, we became the first legacy U.S. newspaper to transition to nonprofit status, helping to lead a national movement toward sustainable local journalism. In spring of 2026 we will remove our subscription paywall and move to a voluntary donation-based membership. To support this shift, we are expanding our development team. The Role The Development Data Coordinator is a new position on the development team. You will oversee The Tribune’s donor and member data and provide analytics support on all aspects of nonprofit fundraising, including individual, corporate, and grant giving. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, organized professional who is passionate about community impact and the future of independent journalism. This role reports to the Chief Development Officer and will work closely with the Director for News and Audience Analytics. What You'll Do Data Management Input manual data from all donations that do not come through our reader revenue vendor. Ensure donor data is up-to-date and accurate. In coordination with Major Gifts Coordinator and Development Coordinator, work to maintain the Major Donor CRM and Grants Tracker. Analysis & Strategy Provide analysis on membership and reader data for use in fundraising campaigns and on-site fundraising appeals with the goal of acquisition and retention of members. Provide reporting and analysis for use in grant writing and reporting, as well as (at times) advertising. Working with the Director of Analytics, provide audience data to revenue teams as needed. Reporting Assist the Directors of Finance and Analytics on monthly financial and membership reports. Requirements What We’re Looking For Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Strong attention to detail and experience in analyzing and preparing data Proficiency with Google Suite and Excel Experience with Power BI, Tableau or other data visualization tool preferred Strong writing and communication skills Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Proficiency with CRMs Experience with project management Marketing and presentation skills (deck creation, donor communications)
