The Development Director is responsible for overseeing fund development efforts for Holy Angels Residential Facility. The Director of Development will assist the C.E.O. in the design and implementation of all fundraising efforts for the organization. The Director will assist the C.E.O. in securing major gifts, annual gifts and pledges, corporate sponsorships and deferred gifts and will maintain the fund development database of all contributions received. In addition, the Director of Development will design and produce all development communication materials including gift agreements, stewardship materials and various campaign tracking forms. The Director will create and oversee annual appeals to existing and prospective donors by mail, email, and telephone. The Director will supervise and manage all phases of the grant writing and implementation process: research possible grantors, complete applications, manage financial reporting of awarded grants and design and manage required metrics stipulated by the grant administrators. The Director will oversee the timely processing and acknowledgement of all gifts including pledge reminders, matching gifts, memorial donations and in-kind donations. The Director is expected to: be an active and visible member of the Holy Angel’s and Shreveport community through participation and attendance at civic meetings and organizational events; work occasional evening and weekend hours, including travel out of state 4 – 6 times per year for donor visits, events, and conferences; travel in-state 4 – 6 times per year for donor visits, events, and conferences. The director will adhere to and manage internal accounting controls in accordance with Director of Finance. Compliance with IRS regulations and the Association of Fundraising Professional’s Code of Fund-Raising Ethics and the Donor Bill of Rights is essential. Specific Skills and Responsibilities 10 plus years experience in Development or Fund Raising with experience in securing major and deferred or planned gifts (estate plans and/or endowments), annual gifts, pledges, and corporate sponsorships Proven and quantifiable track record in fund raising and grant writing with at least 3 years experience in not-for-profit fund raising Maintain current knowledge of nonprofit/fundraising best practices and legal policies at the state and national level Current Member of the Association of Fund Raising Professionals affiliation and CFRE or CFRE eligible, preferred Maintain strict donor confidentiality standards and practices Foster professionalism, teamwork, and accountability among Foundation staff and volunteers Adhere to all Foundation policies including Gift Acceptance Policy, Document Destruction & Retention, Whistleblower, Conflict of Interest, Restricted Gifts, etc. Strive for the highest measures of integrity, transparency, and ethics in fundraising Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience in working in event planning, board management, and on a capital campaign volunteer structure a plus Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) REQUIRED Prefers proficiency in Development CRM Software Qualifications: Must maintain a current and valid driver’s license Education: Bachelors in Marketing, Communications, Management or related field REQUIRED, Master’s degree preferred Work Environment: Works with individuals with developmental disabilities Physical Demands: Walk, stand, sit, push, pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, use hands and lift up to 50lbs, 2/3’s of the time Requirements: Drug Screen Criminal Background Check Driver’s License Check
