Description

Role Summary Responsible for developing and maintaining embedded firmware for transit fare readers used in contactless payment systems. This role ensures performance, reliability, and compliance with payment and smart card standards. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain embedded firmware for transit reader devices. Conduct benchmarking, performance tuning, and end-to-end testing. Analyse performance metrics (response time, failure rate, transaction success rate). Troubleshoot integration issues and perform regression testing. Ensure compliance with EMV and transit payment specifications. Support certification and validation processes. Technical Requirements EMV Contactless Specifications (C-2 to C-8 kernels, Book A & B) ISO/IEC 14443, ETSI TS 102 221 Smart card cryptographic protocols CEPAS and NXP Mifare specifications NFC/RFID, UART, I2C communication Programming: C, C++, Rust Software quality assurance & testing methodologies Qualifications & Experience Diploma or Degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics, or related field. Experience in embedded firmware development preferred. Experience in payment, transit, or smart card systems is an advantage.
