We are strengthening Valmet’s Pulp & Energy Business Unit’s Energy Production team in Finland and looking for a Development Engineer to be responsible of selected improvement actions in manufacturing. Our production function has a responsibility for two pressure part production workshops in Finland (Tampere and Lapua) and Global Production Services organization. Together there are approximately 200 production professionals working in these functions.
In this position, you will be cooperating with multiple stakeholders for example Engineering and Production organizations in Energy business unit and relevant external partners when needed. You will actively drive digitalization further and pay high priority in decreasing Valmet’s environmental effect in your development projects. You understand that the development actions need to support manufacturing effectiveness, new manufacturing capabilities, and flow in order to improve cost competitiveness, high quality and availability for business needs. Position can be located in Tampere or in Lapua, however travelling on a regular basis between Tampere and Lapua production units is essential part of this position.

Responsibilities
  • Planning and carrying out development projects that support pressure part manufacturing strategy.
  • Supporting production flow with continuous improvement processes e.g. systematic waste reduction follow up.
  • Identifying and implementing new manufacturing opportunities and capabilities in own manufacturing, but also in subcontracting when feasible.
  • Facilitating new concepts and manufacturability in upstream and downstream value chain.
  • Securing stability of development by process descriptions, way to operate improvements and follow up models in close co-operation with operative teams.
  • Other production support tasks can be assigned to you when occurring.
