Job Title: Development Intern Division: Century Affordable Development, Inc. (CADI) Hours: 25–30 hours per week Compensation: $27.00 per hour Start Date: June 1, 2026 (flexible based on academic schedules) Application Deadline: May 1, 2026 About CADI Century Affordable Development, Inc. is an affiliate of Century Housing Corporation that acquires, develops, and operates high quality affordable housing throughout California. CADI employs an integrated approach combining development, property management, resident services, and resident engagement within one mission driven organization. Century has cumulatively invested more than $3.5 billion in the creation and preservation of approximately 63,000 affordable homes statewide. Key Responsibilities Under the direction of CADI staff, the Development Intern will perform professional level tasks in support of affordable housing developments in CADI’s pipeline and advance Century’s mission of investing in homes and communities so that low-income individuals and families may have a dignified living environment, achieve economic independence, and enjoy healthy and vital places to live and work. Development & Predevelopment Support * Conduct research, coordinate due diligence, and support underwriting efforts leading to recommendations during acquisition and predevelopment phases * Assist with data mining and preparation of responses to RFPs and RFQs * Support senior team members in financing applications, including preparation of select due diligence materials Financing & Capital Stack Support * Assist with applications for grants, residual receipts public loans, permanent loans, Low Income Housing Tax Credits, and tax exempt bond financing * Support senior staff during loan closings by coordinating with lenders, investors, title companies, and consultants Construction & Project Coordination * Participate in construction site meetings and assist with owner and developer action items as needed * Attend workshops and trainings representing the CADI team; take detailed notes and report back clearly and succinctly * Participate in weekly Development team meetings * Assist with special projects and additional tasks as assigned in support of the CADI development pipeline Knowledge, Skills & Abilities * Demonstrated interest in affordable housing development, social justice, public policy, and real estate finance * Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills * Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and meet deadlines * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment * Problem solving mindset and strong attention to detail * Appreciation for mission driven work and the dual bottom line of financial and social outcomes Education & Experience * Currently enrolled graduate student in Architecture, Urban Planning, Business, Real Estate, Public Policy, or related field * Demonstrated academic or professional interest in affordable housing, community development, or complex real estate transactions * Graduate students with a client project requirement are encouraged to apply; CADI will collaborate to align deliverables with academic requirements Working Conditions * Internship may be hosted in office or remote * 25–30 hours per week * Flexible start date based on academic calendar To Apply Submit resume and cover letter by May 1, 2026.
