OVERVIEW

The Development Manager plays a key leadership role in advancing the Community Cooperative’s fundraising, communications, events and engagement strategies. Reporting to the COO, this position manages a small team and oversees donor engagement, special events, and communications initiatives that strengthen relationships with supporters and raise awareness of the organization’s mission. The Development Manager will work collaboratively with staff and community partners to execute effective fundraising campaigns and events while ensuring consistent, compelling communications across all platforms

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, nonprofit management, marketing, or related field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 2–5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, events management, or communications.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience supervising and mentoring staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to plan and execute successful fundraising events and campaigns.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with donor databases/CRM systems, preferably Razor’s Edge NXT and digital communication tools (social media, email marketing, website CMS).
  • A collaborative, mission-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced team environment.

    Pay: $47,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Director of Development to plan and implement fundraising strategies that drive revenue growth for the organization.
  • Manage, mentor, and support a team of two direct reports: Communications Coordinator and Development & Events Coordinator.
  • Oversee the planning, logistics, and execution of fundraising and stewardship events, ensuring successful outcomes that meet financial and engagement goals.
  • Lead the organization’s communications strategy, ensuring consistent messaging, branding, and storytelling across digital, print, and media platforms.
  • Cultivate and steward donor relationships in coordination with the Director of Development, ensuring timely follow-up, recognition, and engagement.
  • Assist with prospect research, donor data management, and reporting to strengthen development efforts.
  • Collaborate across departments to support organization-wide initiatives, campaigns, and community partnerships.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of events, campaigns, and communications efforts, using data and feedback to inform improvements.
