THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Senior Development Manager, you will join a fast-paced and collaborative Advancement team that plays a key role in driving philanthropic growth across the University.
You will work closely with inspiring donors who are passionate about creating positive change - from supporting equity scholarships to advancing research that improves human health, protects the environment and drives innovation.
This role is focused on growing philanthropic support across Monash’s world-leading Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (HASS) faculties, including the Faculties of Arts, Art, Design and Architecture (MADA), Business and Economics, Education, Law, the Monash University Museum of Modern Art (MUMA) and Monash University Performing Arts Centres (MPAC).
You don’t need to have extensive experience in the HASS fields - that’s what our brilliant academics are for. What matters is your proven ability to engage donors and connect them with their philanthropic passions.

Your key duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Identify, cultivate and solicit philanthropic commitments from major donors - including individuals, charitable funds, trusts and foundations, and corporates with a focus on $100K - $250K gifts
  • Prepare proposals and engage donors via phone, email, face to face meetings/tours and events
  • Engage with relevant internal stakeholders to deliver donor cultivation strategies
  • Providing expert advice to senior stakeholders on the best donor solicitation techniques
Responsibilities

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • Strong experience in major donor portfolio moves management
  • A proactive mindset, high emotional intelligence, exceptional communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, with a systematic approach and a consistent ability to follow through on tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Strong relationship building and communication skills
