JOB PURPOSE:
The Development Manager is a versatile and proactive development professional who plays a leadership role managing the operations of HSSA’s fast-paced Development Office, which is responsible for raising nearly $4M in lifesaving revenue each year. Reporting to the Director of Development and working closely with the Development Coordinator and Chief Development and Marketing Officer, this position manages multiple concurrent high-priority projects to help ensure HSSA meets its donation revenue goals.
In this role, your project-management skills and your ability to lead through influence across teams will help increase the Development Office’s efficacy. You’ll provide critical operational and organizational support to core fundraising activities such as annual giving, planned giving, grant writing, donor stewardship and recognition, and special events. You’ll play a leadership role in the migration from HSSA’s current CRM to the new CRM. You’ll become a subject matter expert in HSSA’s new CRM, training other staff members and volunteers on its use and ensuring data fidelity.
At the same time you provide this critical internal support to HSSA’s Development Office, you’ll deploy your passion for external donor relations to your direct interactions with HSSA supporters. You’ll triage emails and phone calls from donors, you’ll lead donor tours, and you’ll plan and execute donor events to help HSSA raise funding that directly and positively impacts pets and people in our community. Throughout it all, you’ll provide and model exceptional front-line customer service to donors at all levels, as well as to colleagues, volunteers, and other stakeholders.
This is a primarily on-site position, with flexibility for offsite meetings with stakeholders or occasional remote work to meet emergent personal needs. Occasional evening and weekend work required to accommodate special events and seasonal giving spikes.
