As part of the development team, employee will work closely with other team members on current and potential projects for acquisition, acquisition/rehabilitation, or new construction through all phases of development. Common tasks include, but are not limited to, preparing and analyzing spreadsheets and state/federal applications, site walkthroughs, meetings with local, state, and federal agencies, meetings with architects and construction managers, reviewing legal documents, and preparing and submitting construction requisitions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge: Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and arithmetic; modern office methods, procedures and equipment, and business letter and report writing; fundamental record keeping principles and procedures, and filing systems. Ability to work with diverse ethnic and low-income families in a professional manner. Ability to work with outside contractors and businesses. Ability to deal tactfully with a variety of people under constantly changing circumstances using tact and diplomacy. Ability to handle emergency situations and pressure due to complexity and time sensitivity.
Skill: Following oral and written directions, working and interacting effectively with others, learning rapidly, and interpreting/applying laws, rules, and office policies and procedures. Typing accurately, communicating tactfully and effectively in both oral and written form; working independently in the absence of supervision. Analyzing situations carefully and adopting effective courses of action; compiling/maintaining complex and extensive records/files; preparing reports and composing correspondence independently. Organizational skills, attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
Education/Experience: Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
1. Completion of the twelfth (12th) grade, supplemented by specialized secretarial courses;
2. Experience in Accounting/Bookkeeping, QuickBooks, and BostonPost are helpful; and
3. General knowledge of tax credits and affordable housing requirements are helpful.
