Description
We have an opening for a Development Operations Coordinator to join the Development department at MCA Chicago. Reporting to the Director of Development Operations, the Development Operations Coordinator enters and processes information into donor databases and performs other routine administrative and clerical duties. To be successful in this role, you will: * Collect, open, and sort incoming mail donations into gift batches; charge credit cards, deliver checks to Finance and Accounting Department, and enter batches into Raiser’s Edge. * Post donation information to MCA General Ledger and troubleshoot minor reconciliations with Finance and Accounting Department. * Monitor Visitor Experience Associate data requests and respond appropriately.  * Prepare weekly donation tax receipts for signature by the Director of Development Operations.  * Assist Director of Development Operations by updating donor records and generating reports and lists. * Provide support for research processes by using wealth screening software, doing basic internet searches, and using Raiser’s Edge to study constituent involvement with the organization * Maintain an organized filing system of paper copies of donation support documents, sensitive materials, and payment records for gifts. * Coordinate data cleanup projects such as data table cleanup, identifying and merging duplicate constituents, and auditing address formatting. * Support the Development department at MCA events. * Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Development Operations. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES * Associates degree or equivalent experience.  * Two years of office/administrative experience, including database data entry experience. Raiser's Edge experience preferred. * Good organizational, attention to detail, and follow-through skills. * Working knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word, and other Office software.  * Effective written and verbal communication skills.  * Ability to thrive in an open and team-oriented environment.  * Ability to quickly take on new projects and assignments without compromising the quality of routine work and while balancing long term projects.  * Ability to maintain a strict level of discretion, judgment, tact, and diplomacy in all matters. * Ability to work professionally and effectively with a variety of clients and stakeholders. * Ability to perform occasional light lifting. * General mobility throughout the museum.
