OVERVIEW

We are seeking Developmental Behavioral Aides (DBA) to join our team as independent contractors at Tandem Behavior Consulting Inc.! DBAs play an essential role in providing support to families receiving services, they function within a multidisciplinary team of Board-Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBAs), Occupational therapists, Speech Language Pathologists and physical therapists that design individualized treatments plans for learners they work with.

Requirements:

  • Education in a post-secondary program of Psychology, Educational Psychology, Special Education or another related field
  • Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 6 months
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for daily use
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder specific coursework, training or workshops an asset
  • Experience working with clients who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder or other developmental disabilitie

Responsibilities
  • Prioritizing the learner’s well-being and providing responsive interactions
  • Responsible for implementing programs and strategies based on best practices.
  • Provide progress updates
  • Collecting behavioral data
  • Responding safely and de-escalating challenging behaviors based on their functions
  • Adapt to fast paced environments and be flexible with changes in routines
  • Support clients with personal care tasks such as dressing, toileting, and eating

Requirements:
