The Department of Human Services (DHS) is hiring for a part-time Developmental Disability Specialist II to complete Support Coordination intakes and provide case management services in the Clinical and Developmental Services Bureau, Developmental Services program. This position will work with Arlington County residents that have developmental disabilities, as well as their families and community providers to ensure services are available for individuals to live and thrive in the community. The Specialist will join a team of other Support Coordinators that facilitate person-centered planning for individuals supported by the program. The Arlington County Department of Human Services is committed to delivering client services in an effective, equitable, respectful, and trauma-informed manner. Our staff is dedicated to ensuring clients are approached, engaged and supported in ways that demonstrate competency, sensitivity and awareness of factors which impact the individual’s experience including but not limited to: cultural identity, gender, race and ethnic diversity, religious/spiritual ascription, physical capability, cognitive and literacy levels, sexual orientation, and linguistic needs.
