JOB DESCRIPTION

CLI College of Business, Health & Technology is seeking a Developmental Service Worker (DSW) Instructor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have experience in the field of developmental disabilities. We are looking for a mature candidate who has excellent organizational skills, practical skills, outstanding communication abilities, adult teaching/facilitator experience, and a positive friendly demeanor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a diploma or degree in the related discipline.
  • Must present with a minimum of two (2) years current, relevant work experience

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 is essential.
  • Excellent oral, verbal, and written communication to present information in a way students will understand
  • Ability to demonstrate required outcomes in a variety of different learning styles
  • Excellent oral, written, verbal, and listening communication skills are critical
  • Ability to maintain engagement by presenting information to students utilizing different learning styles, and teaching techniques
  • Classroom management and experience are required
    Note: The classes are scheduled from Monday-Thursday at 5:00PM-10:00PM EST.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)

Experience:

  • teaching: 1 year (preferred)

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 46 weeks
Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge of the field.
  • Instruct curriculum using only pre-authorized and provided materials.
  • Teach students using a diverse and systematic plan of lectures, presentations, demonstrations, discussion groups, laboratory work, case studies, and independent or group projects.
  • Employ appropriate adult teaching and learning strategies to communicate the subject matter to diverse students.
  • Administer and marks quizzes, assignments, exams and/or other assessments to monitor and evaluate students’ progress according to guidelines and procedures.
  • Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently and return student marks promptly.
  • Provide feedback on student performance.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to student needs and individual circumstances in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Resolve student complaints and concerns with a positive and professional attitude.
  • Maintain attendance records accurately.
  • Participate in scheduled meetings and annual events like graduation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student privacy and information.
  • Stay current in the subject matter through professional development.
  • Display an attitude of teamwork and problem solving.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
