RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist developmental disabilities clients with all areas of daily living including, but not limited to, attending medical appointments, participating in community life, etc.
• Provide professional support to individuals with developmental disabilities (high behavioral issues)
• Support clients engaging in challenging behavior while remaining calm, neutral, and effectively using Safe Management Crisis Intervention Strategies ·
• Work with a team of Specialist- Behavioral, Recreation and Skill Acquisition towards enhancing client’s quality of life, building meaningful community relationships, and helping to complete activities they enjoy ·
• Implement Behavioral Support Plans and Skill Acquisition Programs to support skill development and reduce challenging behavior ·

WHAT MAKES YOU A GOOD FIT FOR THIS DSW ROLE?

. Certified DSW, SSW, CYW (Would consider PSWs based on experience)
· Current First Aid Certificate
. Have undergone medical screening.
· Must be fully vaccinated.
. Experience and willingness to work with clients with complex behaviours.
. Pharmacology certification and experience administering medication.
. Valid Vulnerable Sector Check and proof of having applied for Broad Record Check
. Valid G driver’s license
. Open to work a variety of rotational shifts (morning, afternoon, evening, weekends, overnight)
. Open to work in surrounding areas such as Burlington, Georgetown/ Halton Hills, Mississauga
