ADMINISTRATOR – YOUNG CARERS
Rate of pay: £7,619.04 (pro-rata, based on FTE salary of £23,492.04)
Hours per week: 12 hours per week
Location: Hybrid – Home working/Westbank office (Exminster)
Contract: Permanent
THE PERSON
We are looking for someone who is:
Organised – able to manage multiple admin tasks with great attention to detail.
Professional and friendly – you’ll often be the first point of contact for families and professionals.
Confident with IT – skilled in using Microsoft Office and willing to learn internal systems.
Empathetic and sensitive – understands the challenges young carers face and responds with compassion.
A great communicator – both in writing and over the phone.
Proactive – someone who can use their initiative, meet deadlines, and solve problems.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:
Essential:
Proven experience in an administrative role.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Competence in handling confidential information.
Ability to prioritise work and manage time effectively.
Understanding of GDPR and data protection responsibilities.
Desirable:
Knowledge of young carers or experience working with children/young people.
Familiarity with the Care Act 2014 or a willingness to learn.
Experience organising meetings or supporting teams across locations.

As the Administrator for Young Carers, you will provide essential administrative support to ensure the service runs efficiently and smoothly. No two days are the same, but your key responsibilities will include:
Handling incoming referrals from professionals and families.
Managing our team mailbox and telephone queries.
Updating and maintaining our internal database and filing systems.
Raising and monitoring Purchase Orders.
Supporting the team with note-taking, correspondence, and procurement processes.
Ensuring the service’s data management complies with GDPR and internal policies.
Assisting with communications and helping promote the service positively.
