The DevOps Engineer 2 supports the Platform Engineering team in implementing and maintaining cloud and automation solutions that enable rapid delivery while ensuring stability and security. This role focuses on assisting with design, deployment, and automation of infrastructure and applications, practicing CI/CD principles, and contributing to operational efficiencies. The position requires 2–3 years of experience, familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), basic CI/CD knowledge, and scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell). The engineer works under moderate guidance, solving straightforward problems and collaborating with team members to deliver high-quality solutions. Key Responsibilities: Assist in analysis, deployment, and automation of infrastructure and applications. Support platform administration and optimization. Implement CI/CD practices and write automation scripts. Monitor system health and troubleshoot issues. Maintain documentation and collaborate on small projects. Preferred Skills: Exposure to containerization (Docker/Kubernetes basics), Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform), and a strong interest in learning emerging technologies. Key Accountabilities Assist in the analysis, design, deployment, and automation of infrastructure and application solutions. Support administration and optimization of existing platforms. Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiencies. Implement CI/CD practices using automation tools and scripting. Monitor and troubleshoot systems to ensure reliability and availability. Document solutions and share knowledge with the team. Participate in on-call rotation as needed. Examples of Typical Tasks for Level 2 Configure and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions). Provision basic cloud resources (AWS EC2, S3, Azure VMs) under guidance. Write simple automation scripts in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for routine tasks. Monitor system health using tools like CloudWatch or Dynatrace and escalate issues. Assist in resolving straightforward infrastructure or deployment incidents. Update and maintain documentation for processes and configurations. Collaborate on small enhancements or fixes with senior engineers. Perform routine platform administration such as patching and user access management. Requirements Experience: 2–3 years in DevOps or related engineering roles. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure preferred). Basic knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions). Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, TypeScript, JavaScript, PowerShell). Understanding of version control systems (Git). Problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively.
