REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Proven experience in DevOps engineering with a focus on automation and infrastructure-as-code
• Strong expertise in:
• Ansible for configuration management
• Azure DevOps Pipelines and Azure Git
• PowerShell and Bash scripting
• REST API integration and automation
• Packer and Cloud-init for image creation and initialization
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure environments
• Familiarity with on-premises infrastructure (VMware vSphere or VCF) is a strong plus
• Understanding of compliance and security best practices in DevOps environments

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Ansible certifications (e.g., EX374, EX467, RH294)

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join the Cyber Recovery team of one of the largest financial institutions in the Netherlands. This role plays a crucial part in automating infrastructure deployment, enforcing security and configuration compliance, and building a resilient, secure recovery environment.
You will help develop a fully autonomous environment that ensures the rapid recovery of critical systems in case of a ransomware attack. You will work closely with international and multidisciplinary teams to deliver secure infrastructure solutions that are at the heart of the bank’s recovery strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and implement automated infrastructure using Ansible, Packer, and Cloud-init
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps integrated with Azure Git
• Write PowerShell and Bash scripts for automation and orchestration
• Automate configuration management and enforce compliance standards
• Integrate and consume REST APIs for infrastructure and service automation
• Collaborate with security and recovery teams to align with best practices
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize deployment workflows and system performance
• Document configurations, processes, and design decisions

IMPACT OF THE ROLE

You will contribute to the cyber recovery and resilience strategy of a critical infrastructure. The systems you support protect over 21,000 virtual machines and nearly 20 PB of data across Europe and the Americas. In the event of a ransomware incident, the environment you help maintain will act as the final safeguard to ensure the continuity of banking services
