We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented professional to join our team as an Infrastructure Implementation & Configuration Specialist. This role will focus on the implementation and configuration of infrastructure improvements, maintaining deployment environments, and supporting changes to live systems when needed. About the Project
Our project involves close collaboration with the client team to support and modernise a vital system. The scope includes hardware expansion, the rollout of DevOps tools and practices, and the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC). This dynamic environment offers opportunities to shape DevOps solutions, contribute innovative ideas, and refine processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement DevOps tools and processes in alignment with the project’s technical objectives.
- Evaluate, deploy, and maintain tools such as orchestration platforms, automated testing, security scanning, and application deployment systems.
- Define and configure physical and virtual infrastructure, leveraging Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Work closely with infrastructure, development, and testing teams to ensure user requirements are met and processes are optimised.
- Monitor the product landscape and recommend tools that align with the project’s roadmap.
- Support users, including developers and testers, to maximise the value of DevOps environments.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking someone with a strong grasp of DevOps concepts, a passion for continuous improvement, and the ability to refine and enhance semi-mature environments.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Comprehensive understanding of DevOps principles, implementation challenges, and best practices.
- Proven experience implementing DevOps processes, including:
o Tool selection (e.g., orchestration, testing, security scanning, application deployment).
o Infrastructure design and management, including IaC.
o Deployment, maintenance, and administration of DevOps tools.
- Experience supporting users in DevOps environments, including developers and testers.
- Proficiency in GitLab Continuous Integration, Terraform, and Ansible.
