DEVOPS ENGINEER

COPE Health Solutions is seeking a DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep, and a strong understanding of working in highly regulated environments like healthcare (e.g., HIPAA, HiTrust, SOC 2). You’ll help build, maintain, and evolve secure, scalable, and automated infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines across our cloud environment. You’ll be part of a cross-functional engineering team and work closely with developers, QA, security, and compliance teams to ensure our infrastructure meets business, performance, and compliance needs.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Azure and Bicep templates.
  • Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, etc.) for application deployment and infrastructure automation.
  • Ensure infrastructure aligns with compliance requirements (HIPAA, HiTrust, etc.) and supports secure SDLC practices.
  • Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (e.g., Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics).
  • Support containerization efforts using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Container Apps, and/or Docker.
  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to conduct audits, manage security baselines, and remediate vulnerabilities.
  • Automate routine operational tasks using scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
  • Manage secrets and access controls securely using tools like Azure Key Vault and role-based access control (RBAC).
  • Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning/testing.
    Troubleshoot infrastructure issues across environments and support root cause analysis.

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science, computer engineering, informatics, management information systems or STEM discipline strongly preferred
  • 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in a DevOps or Cloud Engineering role.
  • Strong experience with Azure infrastructure and services (e.g., VNETs, Key Vault, App Services, AKS, SQL/Azure Storage, Application Gateway).
  • Deep experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep (ARM templates or Terraform experience a plus).
  • Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
  • Proficiency with scripting languages like PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Experience in highly regulated environments (preferably healthcare) and familiarity with HIPAA, HiTrust, or SOC 2.
  • Knowledge of secure cloud architecture best practices and secure SDLC.
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and identity management in Azure.
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools in Azure (App Insights, Log Analytics, Azure Monitor).
  • Familiarity with containers and orchestration tools (Docker, AKS).
  • High attention to detail with ability to adapt and be flexible in a complex, changing environment
  • A willing, effective, and efficient learner; willingness to receive feedback and take direction
  • Ability to work remotely and travel occasionally for team meetings

Preferred:

  • Azure Certifications
  • Practical experience leveraging AI to improve efficiencies.
  • Experience integrating vulnerability scanning tools into CI/CD.
  • Experience with policy-as-code using Azure Policy.
  • Experience supporting audits and documentation for compliance frameworks.
