Description

Are you a DevOps Engineer who wants to make a real impact?
At DIGI2AL, we’re a quickly growing team of creatives, specialists, and technologists who are passionate about solving complex problems. We’re currently working on exciting projects across the public sector and defence, and we’re looking for talented people to join us.

We’re looking for a number of DevOps Engineers with experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD). Experience with tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
  • Cloud Infrastructure. Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or Openshift, including Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
  • Containerisation. Familiarity with Docker and the Kubernetes ecosystem.
  • Version Control. Experience using Git for branching, peer reviews, and collaborative development.
  • Basic Programming. Knowledge of Python or PowerShell, Linux scripting, and networking.

We also welcome applications from people with related technical experience (e.g., networking, sys admin) who have the drive and aptitude to develop these skills.
We work in agile teams, which means we focus on user needs, deliver iteratively, and learn from our mistakes to continuously improve. If you’re a team player who thrives in this environment, we want to hear from you.

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE:

You should have hands-on experience in one or more of these areas, or related technical fields like networking or sys admin, along with the drive to learn and grow. We’re looking for experience with:

  • Cloud Infrastructure: Use of AWS for cloud infrastructure, implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform.
  • Containerisation & Orchestration: Built around Docker and the Kubernetes ecosystem, including deployment and management of clusters using EKS.
  • GitOps: Integral to continuous delivery workflows, specifically through ArgoCD, driven by strong proficiency in Git and CI/CD pipelines managed via GitLab.
  • Virtualisation & Baremetal: Incorporates traditional VMware environments and direct Baremetal deployments for specific performance or security requirements.
  • Automation & Scripting: Key, primarily using Python or PowerShell within Linux environments.

PROFESSIONAL & BUSINESS SKILLS

Your technical skills are crucial, but so is your ability to work with others. We need someone who is comfortable with agile methodologies and is ready to contribute to a team that focuses on continuous learning and delivering value to clients. You should also have:

  • Strong Communication. The ability to clearly and effectively communicate with your team and clients.
  • Self-Management. The capability to plan, schedule, and manage your own work to meet deadlines.
  • A Growth Mindset. A commitment to continually developing your knowledge and skills, with a broader appreciation for how your work fits into the business context.

We’re not just building technology; we’re building a team. If you’re passionate about what you do and ready to work in an environment that values learning and collaboration, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

As part of our growing DevOps practice, you’ll be deployed on key client projects, where you’ll collaborate with the team to accelerate delivery and share best practices. A great example of the kind of work you’ll do is our “Open Architecture Research & Development” project. Here, we’re developing a secure, scalable platform-as-a-service (PaaS) for a defence client. This platform will use a containerised architecture to process maritime data, and you’ll work alongside skilled engineers to help build and mature it. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop your skills in a cutting edge environment.
You’ll be part of an agile team of digital professionals, including other experienced engineers, user researchers, and designers. We work in sprints, focusing on continuous delivery and learning as a team to improve how we work.
