JOB DESCRIPTION

As an Operations Engineer at Netcompany, you will work in a team on projects with societal impact, where you will be able to develop further into your specialization. Examples of these interesting and complex projects are with the CAK, Rijkswaterstaat, and Kansspelautoriteit.
As new projects are coming, we are looking for ambitious colleagues to join us on this adventure. As an Operations Engineer, you play a vital role in establishing and optimizing existing and future critical solutions. At Netcompany, we deliver purpose to your work.

As an Operations Engineer you are responsible for:

  • Managing one or more business-critical systems, ensuring continuous and correct monitoring and performance of the platforms. This also includes scripting and tuning the platform.
  • Collaborating with other team members on security, problem solving, tooling and process optimization and participating in supporting audits, pen tests and incidents, problem and change management.
  • Using a wide variety of cloud tooling to manage and monitor infrastructure.
  • Maintaining cloud-based environments for various projects based on Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud.
  • Working with Kubernetes platforms, managed containers and other new technologies.
  • Status reporting on tasks, activities, and SLA definitions.
  • Building new environments in a DevOps team.
  • Responding to customer requests, change management, incidents etc. based on ITIL principles.
  • Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Azure DevOps pipelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for colleagues with the following skills and competencies:

  • A bachelor’s degree in an IT-related study.
  • Basic Cloud knowledge.
  • Would like to work with Kubernetes.
  • Passion for innovative technologies and continuous learning.
  • Eager to automate regular tasks and improve workflows.
  • Staying up to date with new technologies and valuing knowledge sharing.
  • Would like to learn and use the technologies below:
  • Azure DevOps
  • Kubernetes AKS
  • IaC Terraform, Bicep
  • Cloudflare or a similar WAF/CDN product
  • Cryptography and TLS/SSL certificate management
  • Scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell)
  • Cloud security principles
  • Computer networks and Internet protocols (HTTP, TCP, UDP, DNS)
  • Docker, Ansible, Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Argo CD and more
  • Qualys vulnerability management tooling
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Please note that we are looking for colleagues who are already based in the Netherlands.
