Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This position will be based on site near Chippenham or Reading.

Responsibilities

YOUR FUTURE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Infrastructure DevOps Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals with deep expertise in infrastructure technologies, automation, and DevOps practices. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure systems, with a strong emphasis on automation and integration. Additionally, you will participate in an on-call rota to ensure the reliability and availability of critical systems.
Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Development & Automation:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain infrastructure using VMware Cloud Foundation and associated tools such as VROPS, Aria Suite (including Aria Automation), and NSX.
  • Develop and manage containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Automate infrastructure deployment and management using Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Bash, and YAML.

System Integration & Configuration:

Configure and integrate systems with Aria Suite technologies, including:

  • HashiCorp Vault
  • InfoBlox

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE

  • Experience in Defence or a highly regulated environment.
  • Strong background in infrastructure or support engineering.
  • Relevant certifications or a willingness to pursue them (VMware, Microsoft, Security).
  • Experience in a DevOps role, working through complex integrations.
  • Familiarity with Hyper-converged Infrastructure.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Desired Competencies:

  • Understanding of networking and storage concepts related to InfoBlox, NSX, and Data Domain.
  • Exposure to DevOps tools such as GitLab, Harbor, FluxCD, and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with Elastic for monitoring and analytics.
