This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a DevOps Engineer in the European Union. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining a critical system that enhances border control and security across Europe. You will focus on automating deployment pipelines, optimizing infrastructure, and ensuring the smooth operation of complex systems. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-impact projects that directly contribute to efficiency, safety, and compliance within the Schengen Area. You’ll collaborate closely with development teams, troubleshoot technical issues, and continuously improve processes in a fast-paced, agile environment. Accountabilities: Automate and optimize development and release processes to improve system efficiency. Collaborate with software developers and engineers to ensure that development follows established DevOps practices. Define and implement development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operations. Monitor the entire lifecycle of processes, updating or creating new procedures to minimize waste and maximize efficiency. Encourage and build automated processes wherever possible to streamline operations. Perform incident management and root cause analysis, troubleshooting issues and resolving system bugs. Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments for scalability and reliability. 4+ years of hands-on DevOps experience in agile environments. Strong knowledge of containerization technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, and Helm charts. Experience with CI/CD pipelines as code and tools such as Jenkins. Familiarity with virtualization, HashiCorp Packer, and VM image creation/distribution. Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java or Python preferred). Experience using Ansible to deploy, configure, and manage applications. Solid experience with Linux and/or Windows infrastructure. Excellent teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. Fully remote position within the European Union.
