At Funnel, we work in cross-functional teams and put a strong emphasis on team collaboration. Teams here are not handed requirements, but rather problems to solve. Together with your peers, you develop and take responsibility for your specific part of the product. Learning is central to us, and we use both qualitative and quantitative methods to evaluate features and discover opportunities.
The team’s focus is on building a robust platform that empowers other product, data science, and data engineering teams to be more effective. This role requires close collaboration with both internal teams and technology stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and platform scalability.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
- Experience in agile teams and a willingness to drive projects forward in a collaborative manner.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Platform Engineer to join our Measurement Development Platform team. This role is located in our Hamburg (Germany) office, and we value in-person collaboration and as such we are an office-first team with some flexibility and occasional remote work when needed.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge infrastructure and backend systems that support our machine learning-driven marketing measurement capabilities. You will play a critical part in evolving our data ingestion and storage systems, including databases and big data platforms, while maintaining the integrity of our existing infrastructure. Additionally, you will contribute to the development and optimization of our server-side tracking product.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Develop and maintain scalable backend infrastructure for our measurement development platform using AWS (Terraform, Kinesis, Redshift, EMR) and RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MariaDB).
- Implement and enhance microservices written in Python, Rust, and Java to support our server-side tracking, API endpoints, and data ingestion pipelines.
- Design, build, and maintain self-service applications that empower other teams to leverage our measurement platform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize our data architecture, improve system reliability, and enhance the observability of our microservices.
- Contribute to DevOps practices by maintaining and optimizing our cloud infrastructure, ensuring compliance with ISO standards.
- Support the team’s efforts in system monitoring, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
