DESCRIPTION

The DevOps Engineer maintains complex Linux environments while supporting development and deployment automation initiatives across hybrid Linux and Windows infrastructure in both on-premise and cloud environments. This role requires hands-on deployment, maintenance, and support of Linux systems. The position must be capable of providing technical support and proactive service presence to our employees while implementing DevOps practices and automation tools for both Linux and Windows platforms. The job will require the candidate to manage issues by setting expectations, implementing action plans, and being available 24x7 for on-call rotation. The job requires experience in Linux server administration with knowledge of modern DevOps toolchains and cross-platform automation practices across on-premise and cloud infrastructures.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Extensive experience with Ubuntu Linux (both physical and virtual servers)
  • Experience with Ansible for automated builds and configuration management
  • Networking and security experience
  • Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts and deployment automation
  • Scripting abilities (Bash, Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks
  • Experience with version control systems (Git)

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with Docker and building containers
  • Experience working in a Privileged Access Managed environment (i.e. CyberArk)
  • Experience working with hypervisors in Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies

REMOTE WORK REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have high speed Internet (satellite is not allowed for this role) with a minimum speed of 25mbs download and 5mbs upload.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for reviewing and monitoring logs, maintaining servers, workstations and applications along with troubleshooting, researching and resolving hardware, software and network issues
  • Implement and maintain automation tools and scripts to streamline deployment processes and system configurations
  • Support CI/CD pipeline infrastructure and collaborate with development teams on deployment automation
  • Follow routine protocols and procedures for maintaining security across our environments
  • Maintain, monitor and report on security patches for all assets using automated patch management where possible
  • Follow and document IT operations policies and procedures relating to all hardware, software and network equipment deployments
  • Assist with the deployment and maintenance of new and existing company servers, including containerized applications
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code practices using configuration management tools for consistent system deployments
  • Assist with automation and configuration management on Windows Server platforms
  • Monitor system performance and implement automated alerting for proactive issue identification
  • Understand and comply with all company Privacy and Security standards
  • Ensure that Information Technology deployments and changes follow compliance with the company Information Security Management Program (ISMP). Assist with the development of Information Security policy and procedure to ensure that it meets company goals including compliance with the HITRUST CSF
  • Perform security monitoring and auditing duties as required by IT Operations procedures
