BASIC / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field, and / or equivalent work experience
  • Extensive experience in UNIX/Linux engineering including RHEL, Rocky, Ubuntu and SuSE
  • Act as Linux subject matter expert.
  • Extensive Linux engineering, troubleshooting, testing, hardening and performance tuning experience.
  • Advance understanding of Linux Kernel.
  • Advance experience with package management using artifactory and satellite server.
  • Extensive experience using management tools like ip, dnf, nmcli., apt, ubiquity, debian installer, ufw.
  • Extensive experience writing, reading and understanding yaml, and json files.
  • Extensive automation/Scripting skills: perl, bash and python or related languages.
  • Advanced experience designing, implementing and optimizing Linux filesystems.
  • Advanced DevOps experience utilizing Ansible and Terraform.
  • Extensive experience with vcenter, vmware ovftool, and hashicorp vault and packer tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of CIS Workbench hardening Linux Test Project and eliciting test cases.
  • Advanced experience with TestRail to streamline testing processes.
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Advanced Experience in creating technical drawings and schematics using Lucid chart or Visio
  • Advanced Gitlab experience creating workflows, CI/CD pipelines, setting variables.
  • Advanced Experience working in a SAFe/Agile environment utilizing Jira Portfolio/Jira Align to manage projects and daily tasks.
Responsibilities
  • Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Define, maintain and be responsible for the Linux ?golden image? initiative across Charter.
  • Create and maintain policy compliance documentation for OS Gold Image Catalog and exception process.

  • Designs, implements, monitors, enhances and troubleshoots systems in assigned areas.
  • Analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary.
  • Tests and reviews system designs.
  • Ensures all technical integration, changes, standards and documentation are met.
  • Mentors and guides the work of technical staff.
  • Reviews work plans and designs and advises on improvements.
  • Adheres to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.
  • Knows, understands and follows company policy.
  • Need to be able to multi-task and juggle between priorities as needed.
  • Performs other duties as requested by manager.
